The Grenada Medical and Dental Council (“GMDC”) or (“the Council”) was established in 2010 by the Health Practitioner’s Act. The principal Act was amended in 2019 via the Health Practitioner’s Amendment Act. The Council performs two major functions; each is overseen by its own secretariat.

The  Registration and Licensing Secretariat provides oversight for the processes of registration, reregistration and issuance of practicing certificates to medical and dental practitioners in the State of Grenada.

The Accreditation Secretariat quality assures any medical education program in Grenada that leads to the qualification of Medical Doctor (MD) or its equivalent. The monitoring and evaluation role performed by this secretariat culminates in an accreditation decision made by the Council.
